This is a single
court tomb situated on the top of a hill with
extensive views.
Both arms of the 6m wide court exist and the
gallery is well defined too. This is about 3.5m long
and split into three sections, which are (from front to
back) 1.5m, 1m and 1m long.
100m from the tomb is an exposed rocky outcrop, which
could easily be the source of the stone used to build
it. |
John Harold Hewitt (b. 1907 d. June
1987 ) was a renowned poet who was born and lived in
Belfast, Northern Ireland . He was appointed the first
writer-in-residence at the Queen's University of Belfast
in 1976. His collections include 'The Day of the
Corncrake' (1969) and 'Out of My Time: Poems 1969 to
1974' (1974)'. He was also made a Freeman of the City of
Belfast in 1983 |
